Phone Calls and Tigers and Hugs, Oh My!

Yesterday, we made it to the zoo. I'm going to attempt to post a video I made of us there. My mom and I end up looking like complete fools, but that makes it funny. Annie isn't normally as unwilling to cooperate as she was in the video. We were rushing because we did not have a lot of time at the zoo. You don't rush Annie.

By the way Lee, it was nice of your imaginary self that Annie talks to to call her today. She picked up a phone and said, "Oh daddy! You called!" and then proceeded to talk to you for the next couple of minutes. I had trouble understanding her, but she talked about going to the zoo with Gabby and swimming with the two youngest H girls. She also told you she was playing at roof's house. After talking to you, she started talking to her brothers again. She hung up, looked at me and said, "Brother Dano's here!" She also told me it was mommy's birthday and she was going to eat mommy's cake.

Today, I decided that she was plenty old enough to help me pick up the messes she makes. She was picking up the DVDs she had spread around the floor and was almost done. I told her to pick up the last few, but she sat down on the fireplace, yawned, and said, "So tired." I told her she could muster the energy to finish putting them away. She responded, "Too tired. Kelsey put away." In the end, I convinced her to do it.

I don't know if you guys have heard about our habit to give her a kiss from each of her family members before she goes to sleep. Today, I was putting her down for a nap and she got creative. I asked who she wanted a kiss from first (yesterday it was daddy she asked for) and she told me "Aunt Carla." That was followed by "Ethan, Mark, Joey, Matt, and Laura." I hope I got the cousins names right. It was hard to understand her.

I was holding her when I was walking through Target and she told me "I love you. Big Hug. Squeeeeeeze." It was adorable.

I'm going to have to continue this tomorrow because it's getting way past my bedtime, and Annie wakes me up at 7 every morning with "Good morning. Wake up. Sun came up. Time to get up." It would be cuter if it was at 8.

Busy Days Make for Fun Stories

Annie sure has been busy. Yesterday, she wanted to see the H. girls really bad (she climbed off my lap after looking at pictures and said "bu-bye, see you later. money, keys, laura. be right back.") So today, we invited them over and Annie went swimming with the two youngest H girls. L was leaving to go get the girls' swimsuits and Annie was saying "No leaving! No leaving! Shoes on." She wasn't ready for them to go yet. Tomorrow, we are going to the zoo with Gabby.

Yesterday, I was trying to wash Annie's hands and it took awhile ("No! Too Scary!"). Afterwards, I was holding her on the chair and we were singing songs. I sang to her "Oh, No! Look at my hands. Look at my hands. They're..." And waited for her to finish it. She looked at her hands, frowned, looked up at me, and said, "clean," making it sound like that was a stupid question, we'd just spent five minutes washing them.

We were baking cookies for Adam (well, I was baking anyway, Annie was playing with water and measuring cups in the sink.) I would hand her something and ask her to wash if for me. She'd put it in the water and then say "clean one," until I would give her a clean one.

She was also trying to get inside after our walk and finally asked for my help. I was about to open the door for her when she said, "It always sticks! Every time!"

She got a hold of a phone today, and although you couldn't hear her, she had quite a conversation with each of you.
She started with mommy: "Oh, hi mommy! beautiful day. yes. mmhmm. Water Flowers. luv you too. bu-bye"
She tried calling daddy but told me, "Daddy busy. Work."
She then told me she was going to call all her brothers: "Oh, Dano! Hi! Sun came up. Blue skies. Wonderful. Love you."
"Hi Andrew! Sun came up. Watch Bob. Annie wake up. Love you too. Bye!"
"Sammy! Oh Sammy! Beautiful Day! Blue Birdies. Bu-Bye!"
"Davy, Oh baby David. Sooooo cute!" She turned and looked at me and laughed and said "Davy cute."
It amazed me that she went through the entire family (except daddy, who was apparently too busy. shame on you! your imaginary self that Annie talks to should always have time for his daughter. ha ha. maybe next time :)

I had been camcording her and after I was done she wanted to see so I let her watch some of it. When it was done she said "Pretty cute."

Annie has found some new favorite toys. They are called darbies. And for those of you that don't speak Annish, you should learn, but I'll be a translator. They are her barbies and she wants to take them everywhere. She tells me they are "Beautiful. Pretty hair. Long hair."

That's all that I can think of for now. Hope everything is going well.

Temporary Blogger

The only reason why I'm doing this is because I think it's going to be way easier than trying to figure out which e-mail address to send to . I figure this will give us a good way to stay in touch and share some Annie stories. When I was telling my mom some things Annie had done over the past day, she told me I should write a journal. Typing is easier.

So here are some things she has done lately:
-Colored with highlighter all over my mom's new laptop (don't worry lee, we put it on your bill)-my dad was supposed to be watching her
-lined up all her movies and told me they were "a family again." I heard her talking and she was saying "kids sad. mom leave." it's amazing what you hear when you listen to her
-she's been calling me Kelsey Jo all day. Actually, it's more like Kelsey Joooooooooo!!! (thanks, Lee for that little nickname)
-I was showing her pictures of her new sisters and asked if she would like to see them sometime. She told me "brothers first" and then she would see her sisters. There was also a request for a picture of Daniel next time you post pictures.
-Yesterday I was feigning sleep and she kept pushing my shoulder saying, "Kelsey, Kelsey, Wake up. Wake up. Beautiful day. Sun came up."
-I came into her room after her nap yesterday and she was sitting there with her diaper off and told me "Good Morning."
-She's learned how to fake cry. Watch out; it's quite convincing.
-She loves to roar back and forth at each other. She wants a "big one, tiny one, mommy one, daddy one, andrew one, daniel one, sammy one, david one, nana one, papa one."
-I was coloring a picture of batman with her and I asked her who her favorite superhero was. she said, "hmmm, let's see. (she was tapping her finger to her chin during this). daddy! (with a big smile.)"

I wish I could remember every thing she does and write it down for you, but I think that's impossible. I hope this helps ease the Annie sickness.
