Yesterday, I had an art project all planned out. I took her outside and let her paint with her feet. She told me it was "too scary," but I just said "Naaaa" and made her do it anyway. We cranked the music and danced all over the porch. Once she got started painting she didn't want to stop and had a great time. Little did she know we were preparing her for some real work.

A Painting Journey: From Amateur to Pro to Pink Slip
On Sunday, I had tried to jump off our curb on rollerblades and got all banged up. Annie has tried a few ways to make my "owies" all better. When I first came in she tapped my knee and said "So okay, so okay. Annie read books to you." Then she went out and got some books. She has tried kissing it to make it better, but when it doesn't go away she tells me "Roofie kiss it. Dennis kiss it." She also tried a less conventional way. She found a tape roller and she said "roll it," and then proceeded to roll tape over my bruised and bloodied knee. Naturally, I said, "Ouch! Rolling it does not make it feel better!" She looked at me and said, "Ooh, Kelsey crabby." She got tickled for that one. Harsh punishments at Roof's house.

This looks just like Monet to me.

Okay, now that she had some practice under her belt, we decided it was time she turned pro and started earning her keep. So we put her to work painting my parents bedroom.

She did a great job, so we gave her a nice paycheck (she's paid in crackers-cheap labor). Little did we know that this was all going to come back to haunt us. My mom had thought she'd put the little trouble maker to bed, so she came down to look at the movie on the blog. We came back up to find a massacre had occurred. The mischievous miscreant was hiding under the bed.

We weren't too worried though. After all, we figured it was time for an upgrade, so we just put it on Lee's tab. (By the way, your tab now consists of: two cases of floss, a dishware set, new carpeting in my parent's room, a chair, and a big screen TV. You might want to get a move on those anti-stat strips.) Obviously, we had to let her go. We gave the devious darling a pink slip and sent her back to bed. She was a little surly, but not overly remorseful.

I don't even know what to say. What a day you must have had!! As I said - but it on my ever increasing tab - you better warn Karla about all the newly acquired skills that Annie has developed. She sounds like she is actually a little dangerous.
By the way - on after I wrote I haven't seen anyone playing tennis - I read in our guidebook that tennis is very popular in Ukraine and I saw a man w/ a racquet - heading either to play or home from the tennis courts.
Have a great vacation G's -!!
ha! ha! ha!
i love the devious darling part;).
